Cruising with Ndidi and Vincent

Who would of thought two powerful attorneys would be so relax and cool planning their wedding. I’ve worked with a few attorneys but none compared to Ndidi Oriji and Vincent Southerland. They were so laid back, calm, and fun - I loved it! They also introduced something to me “A Non-traditional Wedding”! I was shocked knowing that Ndidi is Nigerian and Vincent is African American. Most of my Nigerian brides stick with most of the traditions so I could not wait to see the wedding day. All of my brides know, I am all about traditions but I was able to let go for this one day. And I survived and I loved replacing the wedding cake with the bride’s favorite pies from Bubby’s!

From all of the heavily detailed emails to the couple’s endless traveling (and me waiting for responses when they return), the wedding day was finally here. Everything they wanted they received.

All of the couple’s requests were simple and easy to design and create. We designed the floral arrangements exactly the way the couple envisioned even with last minute arrangements of the chalkboard timeline, my coordinator Manuel snapping photos for the photo album and to my assistant Rochelle helping the guests locate their escort cards off of the chart.

Working with Kenan at MyMoon was a pleasure. He was very accommodating to the couple’s needs. Susan Shek captured some wonderful moments of their wedding. Enjoy the photos.

Thank you Ndidi and Vincent for allowing ICS to plan your wedding. It was a pleasure to work for you.

A Walk through the Garden of Monifa Davis and Steven Jones Wedding

This was a big year for me of reconnecting with old school friends. My aunt informed me in casual conversation one day that Director of her past employer daughter is getting married. I attended that daycare many years ago and to find out she's engaged and she's interested in your services was exciting . I have not seen Monifa since I was either eight or nine years ago. We were two peas in a pot back then and now look at us grown with families.

Monifa still had the sweet, laid back spirit. Very proactive, independent and a creative flair for style. She envisioned her wedding being in a garden because she loved color and life. The Swan Club was perfect setting for her wedding. Through every thought and photo taken by the incredible Chad of Sobitart Photography you will see the everlasting joy on her face as she dances the night away. The photos were amazing and make sure you see the outstanding second dress from Monifa. It was hot, just like Monifa!
